Humility

First, let us make something clear. “To humble” and “to humiliate” do not carry the same meaning. They are close but they act differently.  The first one renders humble, causes humbleness. The second one causes humiliation, mortification.

Humility (or humbleness) is a word that went out of fashion a long time ago. Humbleness has never been very trendy but, at least, it was a quality that used to be recognized when encountered.

Today, lack of boasting and horn tooting is labeled as a lack of self-esteem, self-worth, or self-confidence.

Just today, humility caused someone to think of me as amateurish. Either that or the individual has a well-fed superiority complex.

When will people stop competing with one another and simply pool their knowledge  together to help each other?
